Sierra Vista Historical Society Meeting
The Sierra Vista Historical Society is holding their monthly meeting tomorrow, January 18th, 2023 at 10am at the Oscar Yrun Community Center. Anyone interested the society is welcome to attend and reservations are not necessary.
According to their Facebook page, “The Sierra Vista Historical Society was formed in 2002 with the goal of providing financial assistance and support to the City of Sierra Vista's Henry F. Hauser Museum.
This group of volunteers is dedicated to the preservation of the history of Sierra Vista, Arizona and the surrounding area. [The Historical Society’s] many projects include researching and placing historic plaques around Sierra Vista, providing funds for the city museum's educational programs, and promoting the Fry Pioneer Cemetery as a National Historic Site."
Last fall, the Historical Society created a special, all-volunteer live event at Pioneer Cemetery last fall, and they are hoping to make it bigger and better next year. The Historical Society also operates the Gift Shop housed within the museum.
The monthly meeting is for anyone who is interested in learning more about the history of Sierra Vista and our area. Volunteers are also welcome to attend the meeting.
If you’d like to learn more about the Henry F. Hauser Museum, pay a visit. The museum is located inside the Ethel Berger Center at 2950 East Tacoma St. Sierra Vista.
