Want the Secret to Growing Roses in Arizona? This Cochise County Workshop Can Help!
Growing Roses: A Cochise County Master Gardner Workshop
Growing anything in the Arizona desert can be tricky. The Cochise County Master Gardeners are experts, and they're here to teach you how to grow everything from flowers to vegetables to native desert vegetation in our High Desert.
If you've been thinking about growing roses, don't miss this upcoming workshop presented by the Cochise County Master Gardeners (CCMGA).
What You'll Learn in This Workshop
If you want to give your rose bushes the best possible chance to thrive, you have to know the basics.
This workshop will discuss why roses do so well in our High Desert, plus the different types of roses that thrive in our area. If you're not sure where to begin, the Master Gardeners will explain the right way to plant bare-root planting.
What if you'd only like to grow your roses in containers? This workshop will cover the best practices and procedures for this type of planting, as well.
How to Maintain Your Roses
The next step to successfully growing healthy, robust rose bushes is knowing how to irrigate and when to fertilize your budding plants.
The CCMGA will cover all of this, plus the how and why of pruning and dead-heading roses. And the workshop would not be complete without the knowledge of the use and care of tools. Finally, they'll help you combat common area pests.
The Workshop: It's Time to Prune Your Roses for Healthy, Robust Bushes and Bloom!
If you'd like to attend this workshop, mark your calendar for Friday, January 26, 1:30pm - 3:30pm.
