Spring Planting: Fresh On the Mind with Arizona’s Master Gardeners!
As Spring comes into full bloom in Arizona, the Cochise County Master Gardeners are here to help with all your desert gardening questions.
Every year, the University of Arizona's Sierra Vista campus becomes a Mecca for gardeners as they navigate the unique challenges of gardening and landscaping in the high desert.
Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners' Plant Talk Coming to Cochise County
If you're daunted by the challenges of growing anything in the desert, the best place to begin is at the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension's Spring Plant Talk. The expert Master Gardeners will explain some of the best plants and techniques for a successful growing season.
This popular event features an informative plant talk with expert Master Gardener Jan Groth. Jan will highlight the best of each plant and explain the methods for planting and caring for them in your garden and landscape.

The Master Gardeners Spring Plant Talk - But No Plant Sale This Year
In years past, the Master Gardeners have held a plant sale in connection with this event. This year, they will not have the plant sale, but have decided to focus on the informative plant talk.
The Plant Talk will be held on Saturday, May 10th, from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 503. Jan will discuss the care and growth habits of a variety of plants that can be grown successfully in your landscape and garden.

Jan and the Master Gardeners will discuss perennials, shrubs, vines, and trees that are best adapted to the High Desert–many of which have nectar-producing flowers perfect for attracting desert pollinators. If you're interested in cactus and succulents, they'll be covered in the lecture, too.
The Spring Plant talk is free! Get inspired for spring planting! Whether you’re adding one new beauty to your landscape, creating space for your new pollinator garden, or just enhancing your landscape for the joy of it, this is the place to be this Saturday!
All proceeds from the plant sale benefit the Discovery Gardens at the UA Sierra Vista Campus and the Master Gardener Educational Outreach Programs.
