Over the Scorching Summer Heat? Plan Now for Fall Fun in Arizona
Arizona has been so scorching hot this summer, I'm beginning to fantasize about cooler fall temperatures. In my mind, I'm pumpkin picking, apple cider-sipping, and corn maze navigating. The cool fall weather can't come fast enough!
It all sounds so appealing right now, as I wipe the sweaty 100-degree days away and settle into something more soothing. As much as I love the summer, I'm ready for the scorching days to end. If you're dreaming about cooler days, start planning with your family now, because the Fall Harvest Celebration is coming.
Apple Annie's Orchard Harvest Celebration
There's no better place to spend a good old-fashioned late summer/early fall day than Apple Annie's.
Find Apple Annie's Orchard at 2081 W. Hardy Road in Willcox. Apple Annie's is an excellent place for good old-fashioned fall fun. The Orchard Harvest Celebration runs over the course of several weekends on August 26th and 27th, and again on September 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Round up the family and head out early. The Orchard Grill brings its hearty Pancake Breakfast to your plate from 8:30 to 10:30 am.
Imagine fresh-made pancakes with hot apple topping or cider syrup, made from apples grown right there in the orchard.
Then take some time exploring the orchards and enjoying the beautiful scenery, make memories, and don't forget to take lots of photos.
After all that fresh air, you'll be ready for a slice of their amazing pie. If you've never experienced homemade apple pie or apple crumb pie, make sure you save space to take a few pies home with you. After all, Apple Annie’s was named the Best Place to Eat Apple Pie in the World by Lonely Planet’s Ultimate Eats ban in 2018.
The pie is so good, you'll probably want to eat dessert first, but save a little room for lunch at the Orchard Grill. They serve apple-wood smoked burgers, and cake donuts, too.
Farm Fresh Produce at Apple Annie's
If you didn't have time to put that garden in over the summer, drive down the road a piece to Apple Annie's Produce Farm where you can choose from over 20 varieties of vegetables grown on the farm. It's a short drive from the orchard to the produce farm at 6405 West Williams Road in Willcox.
Choose tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, sweet corn, and a lot more. Even though we're not quite into fall, this is a good time to spend the day with the family on the farm. You'll want to return again and again as the days get crisper as we move into our long and lovely fall weather in Arizona!
