As I've read in countless articles, walking is one of the best and simplest ways to move more. Naturally, one of the best ways to walk more is to have a dog, especially one that needs help peeling off some pent-up energy.

If you're looking for a high-energy walking companion, this is the wrong list for you. If, on the other hand, you're into video games, Netflix binge sessions, knitting, reading, macrame, counted cross-stitch, or any other sentient couch-based activity, you've come to the right place.

The breeds of my two dogs (a.k.a. the loves of my life) are on this list, which doesn't bode well for my workout routine. We've already spent many hours snuggling on the couch, talking over our troubles. (Well, I'm talking, and they're listening. And also hoping I'll share my snack with them.)
