Adopt a Fort Huachuca Soldier for Thanksgiving
ADOPT A SOLIDER FOR THANKSGIVING
Shortly before COVID shut the world down, our family participated Fort Huachuca's Thanksgiving Adopt-A-Soldier program. We met two nice young ladies who were attending school on Fort Huachuca and couldn’t return home. Over dinner, they shared some of their fondest Thanksgiving memories with us, told us about their families, and we even got to “meet” their loved ones when they video-chatted on a short call home right before dinner.
THE EVENT RETURNS
Last year Covid shut this program down, so it’s wonderful to see this event returning. It’s nice to be able to say ‘thank you’ our soldiers, and this Thanksgiving, consider the 111 Military Brigade’s Adopt-A-Soldier program.
Since many of us wildly overcook around the holidays, this is the perfect time to share some of what we have with others. Afterall, the holiday is about remembering all we have to be grateful for. For many of us, it’s about shared memories with friends and family, but not everyone is able to return home for Thanksgiving. Many of the soldiers on Fort Huachuca are not able to return to their families this Thanksgiving. Some are going to school here, and others are just not able to make the journey due to scheduling and financial reasons.
HOW TO REGISTER
Which is why Fort Huachuca is calling on families around Cochise County to act as a substitute this season.
