Arizona Veterinarians Urgent Warning: Don't Feed THESE Foods to Your Dog
If you'd like to make your dog a special meal for Thanksgiving, it's a good idea to stick to foods he's already used to eating. Suddenly, changing your dog's diet can, at the very least, lead to an upset stomach, nausea, or vomiting.
However, giving your dog foods humans typically enjoy during our holiday meals could lead to much more dire consequences for your beloved family dog.

Never Feed Your Dog Onions or Garlic
It's important to know that one food ingredient dogs cannot tolerate is onions or garlic. According to Vet Explains Pets
"Onions and garlic belong to the Allium family," the website VetExplainsPets.com explains. The allium family also includes chives, leeks, and shallots. "These plants contain compounds called thiosulfates, which can cause oxidative damage to dogs' red blood cells."

Dogs who consume onions or garlic can experience hemolytic anemia, a condition in which the red blood cells are destroyed faster than the body can replace them. They can make your dog very sick or even worse.
