Arizona may not be the first place that springs to mind when you think of ice skating, but during the winter - especially around the holidays - several cities around the state set up "pop-up" ice rinks where you can learn or remember the joy of ice skating.

  5. AZ Ice: For those who prefer indoor skating, AZ Ice has three locations in Arcadia, Gilbert, and Peoria. This is the only year-round indoor rink on our list, and it's a great option for anyone who wants a place to learn and practice all year long.
  6. Winter Magic: In Southeastern Arizona, Sierra Vista's Winter Magic ice rink transforms Veterans Memorial Park into a fantastic winter "hot spot." The 4,000-square-foot rink includes a fire pit and party tent, and the entire rink can be rented for private events. The fun lasts through the first Saturday in January.
