Never Too Tough to Wag! Don’t Miss the First Annual Dog Days of Tombstone
It's been said that humans don't deserve dogs.
Dogs do so much for us. Some act as pets, sitting next to us on the couch to keep us company. Others are trained professionals assisting their humans with medical situations or acting as K9 working dogs, helping to fight crime and keeping officers safe on duty.
Working Like a Dog to Put Together This Inaugural Event!
The Tombstone Marshal’s Office and Empower Ability Consulting, Inc., are working together with Discover Tombstone to create the very first Dog Days of Tombstone, and they're planning to make this an annual event.

They're even partnering with the non-profit Tombstone Helldorado to "highlight the amazing careers of working dogs, including service dogs, working Law Enforcement, and military K9s."
The First Annual Dog Days of Tombstone
The proceeds from this event will support the Tombstone Marshal's Office K9 Program, which provides scholarships for disabled students in higher education and will help fund next year's event.
If you'd like to be part of this event, head to historic Tombstone:
- Date: May 11th
- Time: 10am to 5pm
- Location: Historic Tombstone
If You Go...
The Dog Days of Tombstone will feature working dog demonstrations throughout the day, including the Tombstone Marshal's Office Drug Detection Dogs.
Fort Huachuca Military K9s Bite Dogs will be there. If you've ever been curious about what service dogs do, there will be demonstrations showing how they provide help to their handlers. And don't miss the fast-paced Frisbee and Agility Dog demonstrations, as well!
There will be live music and food vendors if you'd like to purchase food, plus the Desert Irish Wolfhound Association will be there, so you can meet these gentle giants.
Several local animal rescue organizations will have dogs available for adoption and a Pet Costume Contest!
For the complete schedule, follow this event on Facebook.
