
15 Things That Make Living in Arizona Hard
Living in Arizona has its perks, but let's be real—there are some downsides, too.
While we absolutely love our beautiful sunsets, the air quality can get pretty nasty. Between the pollution in big cities like Phoenix and Tucson, the sudden dust storms - or haboobs - as they're called, or the flying pollen sending our allergies into overdrive, it's not all prickly pear wine and Tombstone Roses here.

If you've lived in other states or countries, you probably realize that our weather can be fairly nice overall. But during the spring and fall, the weather can change very quickly. If you're prone to colds and sickness when the weather changes, consider fortifying with vitamin C and other vitamins. The weather can turn on a dime.

If it's 90 degrees at noon, it can freeze overnight, bringing a sudden cold snap for days or weeks afterward. Then, the weather can suddenly return to scorching heat again- with no warning.
You'll also need a car if you plan to go anywhere in the state. A few places deep in downtown Tucson or Phoenix have a fair amount of public transportation, but the rest of the state is, well, a public transportation desert.

These are just some of the challenges of living in Arizona. While Arizona has its beautiful landscapes and sunny days, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Be prepared for these challenges if you're considering a move to our desert.
