If you've lived in other states or countries, you probably realize that our weather can be fairly nice overall. But during the spring and fall, the weather can change very quickly. If it's 90 degrees at noon, it can freeze overnight, bringing a sudden cold snap for days or weeks afterward. Then, the weather can suddenly return to scorching heat again- with no warning.

You'll also need a car if you plan to go anywhere in the state. A few places deep in downtown Tucson or Phoenix have a fair amount of public transportation, but the rest of the state is, well, a public transportation desert.
