Every monsoon season, we gather around the forecast and hope for the right amount of rain. Yes, this measurement is subject, particularly if, like me, you're just a casual observer of the weather. Will Arizona Have a Wet Winter This Year?

That got me wondering about our winter. Is a wet summer predictive of a wet winter, too?

Most of Arizona's summer moisture came from tropical storms that formed off the coast of California and the Baja Peninsula. Our winter weather is typically influenced by Pacific jet streams and El Niño/La Niña conditions.
