The Surprise Vintage Charm of Willcox Wine Country Fall Festival
When I say "wine country", are these the towns that come to mind:
Sonoma, California, Burgundy, France, Tuscany, Italy, Willcox, Arizona.
If you didn't say "Willcox, Arizona", it's time to rethink your list. This charming little town in Cochise County belongs on our 'wine country' list. It may seem counterintuitive that wine grows so well in Arizona, but some of the finest vintages in the world are produced in Cochise County, and Willcox is the heart of the vine.

Willcox: Where Arizona Wine Production Thrives
Willcox might just be Arizona’s best-kept wine secret. The quiet town is nestled in the Sulphur Springs Valley. This high-desert area is rich with volcanic soil, cool nights, and hot days, the perfect recipe for growing bold, flavorful grapes.
Willcox sits at an elevation of around 4,200 feet, and the climate is very similar to that of some of the world’s top wine regions. And the local vintners in Southeastern Arizona are making the most of it.

The Willcox Wine Country Fall Festival
That’s why the Willcox Wine Country Fall Festival is such a hit. The event takes place in mid-October at Railroad Park in downtown Willcox.
It’s a weekend packed with wine tastings, live music, artisan vendors, and gourmet food trucks. More than a dozen Arizona wineries come out to pour samples of their best vintages, including favorites like Pillsbury Wine Company and Carlson Creek Vineyard.
Tickets range from $20 to $45, depending on how many tastings you'd like to sample. Every ticket comes with a commemorative glass and tasting tickets. There’s also a Winemakers Dinner on Saturday night for $60, which features a four-course meal paired with local wines.
