You never know what you're going to find when you visit a thrift store. I asked listeners to tell me about some of their strangest finds while they visited secondhand stores in Arizona, and I got some great answers.

A Beauty of a Find

Kristen Collins hopped onto the K101 Facebook page and told us the most unique thing she'd ever found at a thrift store is, "My Lenox Beauty and the Beast [figurine was found when] I went to a Goodwill in Flagstaff and happened to look in a glass case. It was near closing time and the guy said to come back in the morning because it would be 50% off."

Kristen continued, "I went back at [the store] opening and got it for $50, it was worth a lot more. It's crazy the things that people get rid of or have no idea what they actually have. We've found some great stuff."

What a find! I looks like that figurine may be worth more like $1,000, according to Kristen. She definitely knew what she was getting and says she treasures it to this day.

A Serendipitous Reunion

Teresa Pierce said she was visiting a thrift store and founds something quite unexpected. When she was little, she accidentally left her favorite doll in Phoenix while visiting her grandparents.

She relates, "I cried and cried when they couldn't find it. About 20 years later we were at a thrift store and there it was sitting it had my name on the tag and all." Naturally, she bought it!

Strange Dolls

The strangest things - by far - that listeners said they found in a thrift store were two dolls listener Raelene Lam shared. Would you have bought these?

I asked her why she picked them up. She told us the one on the left reminded her of her ex-husband. The one on the right was reminiscent of an arrogant relative she knows.

What do you think? Would you buy these? What are the strangest things you've seen in a thrift store?
