Unfortunately, not every school is created equal, and Arizona is lagging behind the rest of America in that front.
How Do You Determine the "Best" Schools in America?
A recent study conducted by WalletHub has attempted to determine which states are the best and worst in education. By looking at funding, safety, class sizes, and instructors, they can put together a comprehensive list of which states education systems work, and which ones don't.
Looking at their metrics, the northeast is the premiere section of America to educate your children, with Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Virginia, and New Hampshire taking the top spots. Unfortunately, Arizona's home region of the Southwest United states seems to have the opposite reception...

Arizona is Falling Behind in Education
When looking at the bottom states for education, things seem to get much more dire. Arizona was ranked as the 48th best state for education out of 51 (counting the District of Columbia). The only states lower are Alaska, Oklahoma, and our eastern neighbor, New Mexico.
We are also tied for the fourth highest dropout rate in the country, showing that our education system is failing young men and women, and pushing them to leave the system behind for good. How we change this? I don't know, but if something isn't done soon, we may find ourselves in a dire situation in just a matter of decades.
