They want to give the money to your local Cochise County charitable organization, that is!
If you're part of a 501c3 charitable organization in Southeastern Arizona, your group may be eligible to apply to be one of the recipients of this generous gift.

What is the Cochise County Sheriff's Charity Ride?
The Cochise County Sheriff's Charity Ride was started in 2013 by Sheriff Mark Dannels to support local charities across the county. This annual event gets more popular each year. The charity raises and distributes $50,000 to selected local charities.
Cochise County Sheriff to Give Away $10K to Local Charities
Last year, the charities each received $10,000. Some past recipients were Just Kids, Inc., Cochise Serving Veterans, Hero P.A.W.S., and the Good Neighbor Alliance.
To qualify for funding, a charity must:
- Be a registered 501(c)(3) organization in good standing with the IRS.
- Submit an application along with an IRS determination letter.
- Operate within Cochise County and verify that the funds will be used locally.
- Not have received funding in the previous year (organizations cannot receive funds in back-to-back years).
- Avoid political or controversial affiliations.
- Not be a National organization. For example, the American Red Cross or the March of Dimes are not eligible.
How to Apply to Be a Cochise County Sheriff's Charity Ride Recipient
If you're a 501c3 organization in good standing, your group can submit an application to be considered this year.
It's Official! The 12th Annual CCSO Charity Ride is Coming!
Applications must be submitted by June 27, 2025 at 5pm. You can scan and email the form to rmcneely@cochise.az.gov or send it via regular USPS mail to the Charity Ride Committee.
Information for Charity Ride Beneficiary Applicants
The Charity Ride Committee will select this year's recipients. If you've been a beneficiary in the past, you can apply again, just not two years in a row.
Remember, apply no later than June 27th at 5pm.
