Say Goodbye To Summer, Snowfall Is Back In Arizona!

Summers are just getting worse in Arizona. The heat is almost overwhelming, and in places like Maricopa County, it can be deadly. Phoenix just broke another record, measuring 100 straight days of temperatures 100 degrees or more.

By this point, you're probably on your hands and knees praying to whatever god will listen, hoping something will cause the end of this heat wave.

Well get excited, because it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Snowbowl Supremacy

While we've been getting ready for snowfall, the Arizona Snowbowl is finishing clearing it up. The northern Arizona ski resort was just one of four in the nation that had enough snowfall to keep operations open through June.

In fact, this was the longest "winter"  that the Snowbowl's ever seen. Over the course of the year, a whopping 23 and a half feet (281 inches) of snowfall fell on the Snowbowl, ensuring they could keep their operation running deep into the summer.

An Event as Unique as a Snowflake

Labor Day Weekend usually means boats, beaches, and beers, but for the Snowbowl, it meant business as usual. On Saturday, August 31st, the Snowbowl, and by proxy, the entire state of Arizona, got its first snow of the season.

It may have just been a short flurry, but it was enough to coat the walkways and guardrails in Flagstaff. This sets the tone for the Snowbowl, as they edge closer and closer to opening day on November 21st.

Snowfall for the rest of the state may still be months away, but this is a sign that the summer's finally over, and I couldn't be happier.
