Two Arizona Cities Ranked The Most Boring In America
Since moving here in 2023, I've fallen in love with Arizona. From the beautiful natural landscapes to the quaint small towns peppering the desert landscape, there's no wonder I fell in love with this state.
Unfortunately, the rest of America doesn't exactly see the state the way I do, especially its cities.
The Most Boring Cities in America
A recent study by FinanceBuzz has been making waves, ranking the Top-20 most boring cities in America. These rankings were determined by five distinct criteria:
- Population Makeup
- Culinary Scene
- Outdoor Activities
- Nightlife & Celebrations
- Things to Do
Every city in the United States was ranked in these criteria, and then averaged together to create a comprehensive understanding on which cities are the least desirable to live in for thrill-seekers and adventurers. Jacksonville Florida was ranked number one, but two Arizona cities have unfortunately made the list.

Arizona's Most Boring Cities
Both of Arizona's major cities have been represented on this list, with the lower of the two being Tucson, ranked as the 17th most boring city in America. This was shocking to me, as Tucson is (in my opinion) one of the least boring cities I've ever visited. No reasoning was given for this choice, leading me to believe whoever ranked these has never visited Pima County before.
Phoenix, on the other hand, had quite a few reasons, being ranked the 10th most boring city in the country. Reasons given? The third lowest amount of concert venues per 100,000 people in the nation, and the sixth least amount of Festivals and Celebrations. All that being said, I implore the FinanceBuzz writers to spend a little more time in the Grand Canyon State, and see what we've all fallen in love with.
