How to Celebrate July 4th Safely in Sierra Vista

Celebrate Independence Day Safely

We're rolling up on Independence Day, and as we look forward to the annual 4th of July fun and events, the City of Sierra Vista has some tips on the best way to celebrate the holiday safely.

Be sure to follow all state and local fireworks restrictions, protect you pets, and be aware that City parks and sports fields will not allow anyone to fly a drone during the events.

Celebrating July 4th in Sierra Vista

The Sierra Vista Rotary Club, partnered with the City of Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca, will host the spectacular Fourth of July Celebration.

It All Begins on July 3rd

The fun begins on Monday, July 3, with a Street Dance presented by the San Pedro Kiwanis in Veterans Memorial Park from 5 to 10 p.m. The band, Heartbeat will be performing from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Centennial Pavilion in Veterans Park.

On Tuesday July 4th, plan on a full day. Activities are scheduled from 7 am. to 10:30 pm. in Veterans Memorial Park.

The 56^th Annual Super Spectacular 4^th of July Fireworks Show starts just after dusk around 8:05 and continues until about 9 pm. You can see the aerial and ground show up close at the Stone Sports Complex

The People and Pet Promenade

Show up early in Veterans Park for the Pets & People Promenade at 7 am at Ramada 1.

The Salute to the Union ceremony begins shortly afterward at 11:30 to 12:30 pm., and it includes an exciting F16 fly-over by the 162nd Fighter Wing of the Arizona Air National Guard.

Leave Your Drones at Home

Drones are not allowed in any city parks or fields during any of these events. It might be cool to get an aerial shot of the crowd or the fireworks, but this is not the place for them.

Flying a drone during the public fireworks display could be hazardous and will result in a delay in the show until the drone is grounded. So don't spoil everyone's fun - leave the drone at home.
