Sierra Vista Police Arrest Suspected Drive-By Shooter
According to a press release from the Sierra Vista Police Department, a man was arrested on Wednesday, January 28th, in connection with a string of drive‑by shootings that repeatedly targeted the same local residence over the course of a day.
According to the Sierra Vista Police Department, officers first responded Tuesday night after residents in the 1100 block of Taylor Drive reported hearing what sounded like gunfire on three separate occasions. When officers arrived, they found bullet holes in the home, which confirmed what the residents suspected.

Investigation Leads To Search Warrant
Police interviewed the residents who identified a possible suspect. They told police they believed the alleged shooter was driving a silver hatchback during the shootings.
That information helped detectives move quickly, and by Wednesday evening, SVPD and the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Teams executed a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of Avenida Escuela. Everyone inside complied with law enforcement and was detained without incident.
Charges Filed As Case Continues
After further investigation, officers arrested one male suspect. He now faces three counts each of aggravated assault, drive‑by shooting, and discharging a firearm at a structure. He was booked into the Cochise County Jail.
Police say the case remains active as detectives continue to gather information and follow up on leads. The names of the alleged suspect and victims have not been released, pending further investigation.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact SVPD Detective William Goodman at (520) 452-7500.
