Donald Trump Plans Two Stops in Arizona This Week
The 2024 presidential campaign for Arizona has been full of surprise visits over the last few weeks. The Republican candidates are paying particular attention to Cochise County and the impact of border policies on the community.
Vice Presidential Candidate JD Vance Visits Southern Border
The first was an unannounced visit from newly minted Republican vice-presidential candidate JD Vance, who made a stop in Southeastern Arizona on August 1st.
The unannounced drop-in took Mr. Vance on a whirlwind tour of the border to learn about the issues and challenges in the area. He met with local experts, like Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels, regarding undocumented border crossings, high-speed chases, and other issues unique to the area along the southern border.
Mr. Vance then went to Glendale, in Maricopa County, as the featured speaker in a rally for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
