Funding for the New EV Charging Centers
The CFI Grant is administered by the Federal Highway Administration and falls under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) program supports the development of publicly accessible EV charging networks nationwide.

When Cochise County applied for the grant, it emphasized "equitable access and the importance of rural infrastructure investment."
“These new chargers help ensure energy independence and lower fuel costs for our residents,” says Christine McLachlan, Cochise County’s new Director of Economic Development. “They’re grant-funded, locally operated, and support our rural way of life, all while keeping taxpayer dollars right here in the county.”

The new charging stations will make it easier for drivers to connect, and they are also expected to attract more local tourism to our area, which could strengthen our regional economy.
