Bisbee High School Robotics Club Takes on the World!
Arizona is becoming a hub of innovation, collaboration, and youthful ambition, and it's all converging in the halls of Bisbee High School.
The Bisbee Robotics Club is a dynamic team of 18 students who collaborate on science and engineering to create student-led robotics projects.
Members like seniors Enrique Romero and Michael Flores are at the heart of this movement. Under the guidance of teacher Aaron Bouley, they're diving deep into the world of robotics competitions.

They're working as a team to build a competition-ready robot. The process, they say, is intense. They're blending math to calculate precise angles and working hands-on with woodworking tools to create obstacle courses so they can test their designs just like they would in actual competitions.

The club isn't just limited to competitors in Arizona. Its competition transcends local borders. The Bisbee students will have the chance to compete against students from around the world at global gatherings where schools from Arizona meet teams from Mexico and Taiwan.
Bisbee Robotics Team: The Cost of Competition
Competing with students from around the world in a global robotics contest can get expensive. The team will have to raise close to $20,000 to get to the state competition, and beyond.
They're rolling up their sleeves and working at local community events. During the Mariachi Festival and the Vintage Baseball Game, they'll sell concessions to raise money for the trips.
Local businesses like Freeport McMoRan and Jim's Electric have stepped up, and even the Cochise County Sheriff's Department is doing what it can to help the team.

The Bisbee Robotic Team hopes the wider community will support it and make up the difference. Arizona residents can make donations through the Bisbee Unified School District’s website and earmark school tax credits for the Bisbee Robotics Club.
Investing in the Bisbee Robotics Club is about nurturing the next generation of thinkers, engineers, and leaders and recognizing the importance of STEM education in our local schools.
