
New Study Says Arizona is “Not a Very Patriotic” State
Arizona doesn't rank very high on the patriotism scale, according to this new study. I was shocked, and I'm not sure if I agree with their findings.
I live in Southeastern Arizona close to the Fort Huachuca Army Post, and there's a good chance we may take a slightly different view of this report.

In years past, Arizona was ranked among the top twenty most patriotic states, which included states like Virginia, Alaska, and Montana. These states typically show a strong military presence and a high amount of civic participation.
Arizona has a large veteran population, with very strong support for military families. The state's culture values and supports military service, which is strongly represented in our rural communities.
The other major factor on which Wallethub ranked our state gave us a bit of a hit, according to the findings. Arizona doesn’t consistently score as high in voter turnout or volunteer rates compared to other states.

Over the last few years, many people have relocated to the Grand Canyon from states such as California, Washington, Texas, and Colorado. The influx is contributing to the change, and this year, Arizona has fallen to number 34 on the list.
