Like the rest of the world, Arizona is experiencing tremendous changes these days. Thanks to automation and tech advancements, things are phasing in and out faster than we can comprehend.
While progress is cool, some jobs might not be around much longer. Many of the jobs affect entry-level workers.

Many entry-level jobs, the kind that teach teens and young people skills they can apply to future employment, could be on the chopping block. Anyone who's ever worked a fast-food job as a cashier or line cook knows the value of hard work.
Businesses with slim margins are learning that investing in technology can save them a lot of money in the long run. Ordering kiosks don't ask for sick time and rarely quit without notice.
Consumers are increasingly tech-savvy and, in many cases, prefer convenience over the fuss of waiting in line and talking to a person.
Jobs that Could Disappear in Arizona in 10 Years
Have you noticed more self-checkout machines popping up in grocery stores? That’s not just convenience—it’s the future. With stores like Walmart and Target jumping on the automation train, we might not see many rely on these jobs to get started in the workforce.

Next, bank tellers could be on the chopping block. Between mobile banking apps and ATMs that can do everything but offer a cup of coffee, the need for tellers is shrinking—and has been for decades.
Finally, taxi drivers are being replaced by ride-sharing apps and self-driving cars. Companies like Tesla and Waymo are working hard on autonomous vehicles, which could make taxis-and even Uber drivers-obsolete.

At this stage, many people are still wary of self-driving cars, but when you consider how much changed between 2019 and 2022 as we came through the pandemic, it's not hard to imagine these technologies making big strides in the next decade.
