Shattering Temperature Records in Phoenix
This summer, Phoenix shattered more than a dozen all-time heat records. Even the nights were impressively hot, with overnight lows often registering above 90 degrees.
The heat has been relentless. Experts blame climate change and the urban heat island effect, which makes the overall temperature hotter in densely populated areas like Phoenix and Tucson.
