Cochise College

Maybe it's not Napa Valley, but Arizona has a very robust wine country, and it's growing bigger by the day. Arizona currently has three Viticulture areas, or the designation for areas that grow grapes to produce wine.

Earlier in November, it was announced that longtime Cochise College President Dr. James Dale Rottweiler would be retiring from his position. He served from 2009 to 2024, and turned the school into a regional powerhouse.

Another President is going to be selected this month, and while not as nationally important as the previous, this one will hold repercussions for Cochise County for years to come.

JenMarie Zeleznak, the Art Instructor at Cochise College Sierra Vista Campus, is also the coordinator of the 2023 Youth Arts Festival.
