Why Arizona Is One Of The Healthiest States
Arizona is consistently atop "best places to live in 20XX" lists, and that's no surprise. The state is naturally beautiful, full of things to do, and full of quaint, loving communities, so it's no wonder people are moving here in droves.
One thing that almost all Arizonans love is seeking out change, and many have found that in exercise.
How Healthy is Arizona?
According to a poll by QuoteWizard, Arizona ranks in as the 18th healthiest state in the country. About 77% of the population was found to regularly work out (if you lied, don't worry. I won't tell), and only 31% of the state was registered as obese.
This is an incredible ration, especially compared to states like Alabama, Mississippi, and Arkansas, who each only have about a 69% exercise rate and 39-40% obesity. The United States average is 76% exercise and 34% obesity, meaning Arizona is well above the national average.
What's Arizona's Favorite Way to Work Out?
So, we know the majority Arizona likes to work out, but what exactly do they prefer to do? It's hard to imagine a state in love with running when summers are regularly breaking the 120s. No fear, because we've found a way around that too.
It turns out Arizona's favorite way to exercise is through Pilates. Very similar to Yoga, this exercise strengthens both your body and mind as you work your way through controlled movements to build your body's strength and endurance.
Both California and Nevada consider this their state's favorite workout as well, so it seems like the west coast desert states can finally agree on something.
